Come see beautiful and diverse works created by our resident silk artist, Susan Smith-Sargent. This one-woman exhibit showcases silk paintings and mixed-media work that captures the spiritual, natural and whimsical parts of our world.


The show is at The Galleries, at Georgetown College

400 East College Street. Georgetown.

The exhibit is located in the Cochenour Gallery inside the Ensor Learning Resource Center (campus library) on the corner of College and Mulberry Street on the campus of Georgetown College.

Ashland Impressions


Artists’ Attic is proud to present “Ashland Impressions,” an exhibit by the Plein Air Painters of the Bluegrass, January 10-February 27. 

Plein Air Painters of the Bluegrass is an outdoor painting group with over thirty members in central Kentucky. One of our favorite places to meet & paint is Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate, in Lexington. With beautiful architecture, an arboretum of old trees, a formal garden & huge peony beds, the estate offers something for artists of every persuasion.  In appreciation to Ashland for sharing this beauty with artists & the public for many years, the Plein Air Painters of the Bluegrass devoted this past season to creating impressions of Ashland. These paintings will be on exhibit at Artists’ Attic. During this time, 10% of all sales of Ashland paintings will be donated to Ashland. So please come by Artists’ Attic to experience the beauty of Ashland & to offer your support for this Lexington treasure. And don’t forget Gallery Hop at the Attic on Jan 17, 5-8 pm!

Aqua Venture Exhibit

The Artists’ Attic is proud to host an amazing exhibit by the Kentucky Watercolor Society on March 3rd-May 2nd.

This show displays diverse works from an array of top artists from the Kentucky Watercolor Society. Come to the opening ceremony during LexArts Hop on March 21, from 5:00-8:00 pm. Cash bar and hors d’ oeuvres served.

Coming Home

Come see our Member exhibit, Coming Home, between May 9th-June 26th. The exhibit will showcase a vast array of artistic talent. Our members work in a wide spectrum of mediums and genres, from digital to oil, from imagination to representational. Truly a feast for the eyes and senses!

PURRSONALITIES is a collaborative art project culminating in a public exhibition at the Artists' Attic, in beautiful downtown Lexington, Kentucky. 

This project unites traditional and digital artists to celebrate the unique personalities of shelter cats through augmented reality. 

Our mission is to create meaningful connections between art, technology, and animal advocacy, fostering awareness about pet adoption and supporting local shelters during their peak season. 

By blending creativity, storytelling, and innovation, we aim to inspire community engagement, generate donations, and encourage cat adoptions—all while providing a platform for artists to grow, collaborate, and explore new mediums.

Unique and original art created by Yolanda Kennison creates original art that touches the heart and delights the eye. Her unique and original art offers interesting and fun visual perspectives. Her art creates instant impact and drama.

Susan Smith-Sargent is a 2-D artist currently working in two main mediums: silk painting (painting with French dyes on Haboti silk) and water-based mixed media. Her inspiration for making art comes from nature and includes a felt sense of what she sees and experiences. Silk painting, in particular, has a unique way of capturing the essence and luminosity that exist in the natural world.
